Police officers found numerous violations when inspections of mopeds were intensified. Especially now at the beginning of the two-wheeler season, the officials pay attention to the young drivers and possible changes to their vehicle. This is supposed to increase traffic safety, say the police.

The officials of the state traffic department carried out more moped controls on Monday using a roller dynamometer. The police found three mopeds that the speed limit was exceeded. They also discovered manipulations on the drive system, which means that higher speeds can be achieved. The moped of a 16-year-old driver from Flachgau reached 83 kilometers per hour. The license plate and the registration certificate were provisionally removed from him on the spot.
Further controls planned
The three boys between the ages of 15 and 17 are reported to the competent authority and have to expect a demonstration at the vehicle inspection center of the State of Salzburg. Further controls would take place continuously throughout the state, according to the police.
