The negotiations with the man lasted about nine hours, when the police tried to talk him out of his actions. “Despite all our efforts to find out the reasons for his decision, an elderly man jumped from a height to the pavement shortly after 9.30 pm, where the firefighters had previously laid the impact mattresses,” said police spokesman Milan Bajcura.

After the fall, he suffered serious injuries and rescuers provided immediate assistance. “During transport to the hospital, the condition worsened and the basic vital functions failed, and the men were provided with resuscitation care.
