JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Spokesman Task Force for Handling Covid-19 Wiku Adisasmito responded to the increasing number of travelers forcing homecoming even though it had been banned.
Wiku emphasized that the police at the isolation post have the right to repatriate people who are still desperate to go home.
“The Task Force asks the public to understand that in this case the police must carry out their duties in accordance with the policies that have been taken. So the police have the right to repatriate travelers who insist on going home,” Wiku said in a press conference broadcast via the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Monday (11/11 / 5/2021).

Wiku said that the government understands that currently people really miss their families in their hometowns and are doing physical friendship.
Moreover, the pandemic has now entered its second year.
“If we force homecoming, then we have the potential to harm ourselves, both in terms of losing time and material, considering that in the end we are forced to make a U-turn,” said Wiku.
He also appreciated the hard and tiring work of the officials in the field. The Task Force hopes that the authorities can always be patient in carrying out their duties.
“Because in principle, when carrying out their duties, colleagues must be away from their families. Therefore, the task force hopes that the officers in the field can always be patient in carrying out their duties,” he added.
