Police have no suspects in train conductor attack, 15-year-old boy held – NOS news

NOS news

The police do not have any suspects in the attack on a leader on Saturday night. The 15-year-old boy who was arrested shortly after the incident is the only suspect. Earlier, the union for railway employees VVMC reported on the basis of the NS that the woman was abused by a group of youths.

As a protest against violence against train workers, all trains will be stopped for three minutes tonight. The action is at 10:30 pm, a week after the attack. Many other carriers have joined it complaint of the NS.

Six to eight boys

The conductor was attacked on a train between The Hague HS to Delft. According to a press release from the VVMC earlier this week, the woman was abused by a group of “six to eight boys”. She was said to have been “kicked, punched and pushed down the stairs with great force.” It is also said that a train driver was hit. The VVMC based its report on what happened on a report from the NS.

The director suffered a broken bone and reported the incident to the police. The driver did not report the accident, the NS says it is not clear if he was also injured.

Shortly after the attack, a 15-year-old boy was arrested. He was released a day later, but remains a suspect. “According to what is known now, we are still not looking for other suspects,” said the police, based on conversations with witnesses and looking at camera footage. The police say that the investigation is ongoing and that they are looking for more people who may know something about the incident.

Hectic

The NS believes that the current high speed may have played a role in the lack of clarity about the number of offenders. “When you are abused, you may not realize it because of the tranquility,” said a spokesperson.

In a news report The NS continues to say that the woman was abused by a group of young people. The spokesperson says that press releases will not be changed later. “What is important is that she was attacked and abused by a group of young people.”

A bloody nose

The VVMC trade union would like to emphasize that this incident is not an isolated incident. “These kinds of things happen all the time. Last week, a Safety and Service worker was choked by someone who didn’t have a ticket. Someone on the bus also suffered a bloody nose. ” The union is also in contact with the leader who was attacked. “She needs rest.”

Last year, the NS received 1,042 reports of violence against train staff, 8 percent more than a year earlier. A spokesman said that this was not about a disturbance, but about threats, splitting and assault.
