Police have criticized the slow incident response of UI students

Polda Metro Jaya Kombes traffic director Latif Usman explained that his party actually already had the results of the witness examination for processing the TKP. However, the police were still awaiting the results of the mediation between the families of the UI students and the ESBW.

“So the UI students for the October 6 incident, the exam was completed from TKP, witnesses, everything was complete. So at the time of this incident, they said they wanted to mediate. We are still waiting for the results of the mediation,” Latif Usman said at the police headquarters in Metro Jaya, Jakarta on Monday (11/28/2022).

The questioning of witnesses, Latif continued, is underway. The case is still being processed to this day.

“It’s not that we don’t want the trial, we are continuing the trial and the witness examination has been done by Pak ESBW, several witnesses have been examined,” he said.

They are still waiting for the results mediation of both parties. Because previously, both sides said they would hold a mediation on the incident.

“Because we are actually still waiting. Suddenly there was viral news, we were shocked too. Even though he said he wanted mediation, the results of the mediation should have been communicated to us,” she explained.

Latif apologized for the case, which took a long time to process. However, he ensured that nothing was covered up in the trial of the case.

“That’s it, we apologize if maybe there was a mistake on our part. But of course we don’t hide this process, we will elaborate it in great detail. Because it was late for this, we gave the opportunity for mediation but suddenly it is went viral,” he added.
