The assault alarm was received by the police at 6.20 pm on Friday.
According to information to the police, a riot broke out outside the address, and a first patrol was able to arrest a man.
During the intervention against the man, a police officer is said to have fired an active fire, ie to shoot to hit, after the man behaved threateningly. No one was injured
It was then decided that the man in question would be arrested, on suspicion of threatening an official.
– He was taken to the police station and there the work has continued. The head of the preliminary investigation on duty has decided that this arrest should be lifted, says Björn Öberg, the police’s press spokesperson in the East region.
“Often a quick process”
The man, on the other hand, is still in custody to be questioned.
– In one way or another, he is interesting to us, of course, it is in some way his actions that have led to the police firing effective fire, but we still have a lot of question marks ourselves, says Björn Öberg and continues:
– When a police officer fires service weapons, it is often a quick process, so here too. We need more clarity in the background to the fact that we received this assault alarm, to the fact that the police patrol ends up in a situation where mn judges that the weapon needs to be fired.
On its website, the police write that the patrol’s actions will be reviewed by the special prosecutor’s office.
