Police fire two warning shots in Noord

The police fired a warning shot at a suspect with a firearm on the Mosveld in Noord twice. The 25-year-old man with the firearm has been arrested. A police spokesman said no injuries were reported.

The man would have shot at Distelweg around 8.50 pm. Police believe he shot into the ground. After a short search, the man was found by the police, officers then fired a warning shot. The man was arrested in an alley near Mosplein and the firearm was found in his inside pocket.

A reporter at the scene said he saw the police chasing the suspect and yelled: “police stand still”. The police are investigating and have cordoned off a large area.
