The police fired shots in Almere on Saturday evening in an attempt to arrest two robbers. The men robbed a snack bar and fled. Ultimately, the police managed to arrest one of the robbers.
The second suspect escaped. He and his companion committed a robbery at a snack bar on Rembrandtweg in Almere around 8:50 p.m. They also threatened the staff with a weapon.
After the robbery they fled on a scooter. Surveillance officers saw the suspects driving a little later near Johannes ter Horststraat, not far from Rembrandtweg.
They tried to stop them and shots were fired. The scooter “has crashed,” the spokesperson said. A suspect could therefore be arrested. The other took off on foot and is on the run.
