Würzburg. Months of investigations by the Würzburg criminal police in close coordination with the Würzburg public prosecutor have now apparently come to a successful conclusion.

As the police announced on Friday, searches of several homes on May 10 and 11 and a large-scale search operation on Thursday May 20 uncovered kilos of drugs and suspected drug money. A total of seven suspects are currently in custody.
Determined since December
According to a police press release, drug investigators have had evidence since December 2020 that several people in and around Würzburg are supposed to be engaged in a lively trade in narcotics.
At the request of the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office, search warrants were issued on May 10 and 11 by detectives with the support of other forces such as the support command (USK) of the riot police and the special operations command (SEK), the supplementary operational services from Würzburg and Schweinfurt and other officers from the surrounding police stations were enforced.

Searched eleven objects
Eleven objects were searched. Police dog handlers with drug dogs were also used. The officers found a total of around 7.5 kilograms of marijuana, 1.5 kilograms of hashish, about 60 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of crystal, 40 grams of MDMA, around 50 LSD trips and around 250 units of amphetamine. In addition, as part of the profit skimming, the investigators seized three cars and five-digit cash that was likely to come from drug deals. By order of the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office, the suspects were presented on May 10 and 11, respectively. The investigating judge ordered a 24-year-old and six men between the ages of 32 and 38 to be held in custody on the basis of an urgent suspicion of illegal dealing with narcotics in large quantities. All of the accused were taken to various correctional facilities.
During the search operation early Thursday morning, a total of nine other objects were on the investigators’ plan. With support from the SEK, the USK and several police dog handlers, the search warrants obtained at the request of the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office were carried out in Würzburg and in the Würzburg district.

Criminal proceedings initiated
The investigators came across a total of 400 grams of marijuana, 260 grams of amphetamine, 180 pieces of ecstasy, alleged drug money in the four-digit range and other small amounts of narcotics. In addition, a PTB weapon, a stun gun and a baton were seized. Five men between the ages of 19 and 31 and two women between the ages of 23 and 52 were provisionally arrested and released after the police were over.
