Police find 5 fetuses in the house of anti-abortion activist | Abroad

When officers in the US capital searched her home on Wednesday and carried several coolers outside, Lauren Handy told the assembled press that they would be “shocked to find out what’s inside.” According to Terrisa Bukovinac, the founder of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, the house is indeed Handy’s home. The woman also promises that “all details will be released” and that they will be “explosive”.

‘Don’t commit a crime’

“The fetuses were aborted under the applicable laws,” said Washington DC Police Commissioner Ashan Benedict. Handy herself claims that she was able to obtain the fetuses at the University of Washington, but that is denied by the educational institution.

Lauren Handy was arrested in 2020 for breaking into an abortion clinic. The woman, who describes herself as a “Catholic anarchist,” is also charged with “harassing, threatening and injuring patients and workers at abortion clinics.” She and nine other members of her anti-abortion organization face up to 11 years in prison and a fine of up to $350,000.
