O video of an agent of the French authorities punching a demonstrator who was already immobilized on the floor, captured last Saturday, became a topic mediain France, which prompted a Paris court to open an investigation into the acting from the police.
The images were shared in direct at the Facebook by a witness and, according to the BFMTV, the young man seen in the images had been arrested for attacking a policeman.
The publication says that the protester was leaning against the window of a store by an agent and that, afterwards, another agent approached and punched him twice in the head.
Already on the floor and handcuffed, the man continued to be punched and began to shout, drawing the attention of several protesters. The youth’s age was not disclosed.
It is recalled that last Saturday, the 18th of January, at least 15 people were detained by security forces during the usual Yellow Vest demonstrations, according to what was announced by the Prefecture of the Police on its social network Twitter account.
These arrests are said to have occurred when a group of men hooded took the lead in the demonstration, leading to suspicion by the authorities that some of these elements could be preparing actions violent.
The Yellow Vests, it should be noted, have been in continuous protests for more than fifteen months every Saturday. In recent weeks, they have joined unions that have organized strikes and demonstrations since 5 December, against project government reform of the pension system.
