Police are still investigating repackaging cooking oil ‘Wasilah 212’ at Pasir Putih, Sawangan, Depok. The owner and the warehouse manager were questioned by the police.
The warehouse was raided by the police on Tuesday (15/3/2022). Police raided the location after receiving reports from the public.
“For the owners, managers, we will check everything first. Then we will secure everything here (storage warehouse) first,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Depok Metro Police AKBP Yogen Heroes Baruno.
No Business License
Yogen said repackaging cooking oil ‘Wasilah 212’ iIt is suspected that he does not have a business license. This ‘Wasilah 212’ cooking oil also does not have a BPPOM label.
“Checking crime scenes suspected of possible violations of consumer protection and trade laws. However, we will continue to investigate this later because the Industry and Trade Department does not have a business permit and POM label from the Health Office,” Yogen told reporters at the location, Tuesday (15/3/). 2022).
Yogen suspected that the warehouse bought cooking oil with a certain brand. The police are still investigating whether the cooking oil that was redistributed in the ‘Wasilah 212’ packaging was adulterated or using bulk cooking oil.
“It is suspected that they bought cooking oil with a certain brand in the form of an 18 liter jerry can, then put it in a tank to be packaged in 1 or 2 liters using a different brand. We will investigate whether it is pure from cooking oil of that brand or mixed again using bulk cooking oil,” he continued.
During the raid, the police secured 2,300 liters of cooking oil which was ready to be distributed to residents. The cooking oil is distributed to a number of shops in Depok to Parung, Bogor.
“Meanwhile, there are 2,300 that are ready to be distributed to shops that have become customers. Then, if there is leftover, it will be distributed to other traders. (Police) provide police line at the location, the items that have been secured today so as not to come out again. We take some samples to the Resort Police to be used as evidence,” said Yogen.
This cooking oil storage warehouse is said to have been operating since 2018. The police have asked a number of witnesses regarding the warehouse cooking oil ‘Wasilah 212’ this.
