Unrest happened at the entrance Jatidir Stadiumi, Semarang, Central Java, during the PSIS Semarang vs Persis Solo match. Polrestabes Surabaya examined as many as 16 fans for the incident.
“Currently there are 16 people being questioned at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Semarang Police in relation to the riot that occurred in front of the Jatidiri Stadium,” Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar told reporters at the Semarang Police Headquarters, reported detikJatengFriday (17/2/2023).
“That was the 16 that were secured by members from the field after the clash, yes the supporters,” he continued.
They were questioned because a number of facilities were damaged. Irwan said that his party would convey the progress of this examination.
“After the riots there was some damage, vehicles, damaged public facilities, we will examine 16 of these. The extent of their role, the quality of their testimony, the quality of their statements will be combined with other evidence. Later we will convey the progress,” he explained.
It is known, the PSIS vs Persis match ended in a 1-1 draw. The incident occurred outside the stadium where fans tried to enter the stadium and were driven away by the police. Tear gas was fired several times outside the stadium fence to disperse the crowd.
