The police will enforce a no-vehicle night or car free night (CFN) on the Puncak route, Bogor Regency, West Java, on New Year’s Eve 2024. If a vehicle passes, the police will take action.
“If we find vehicles still passing, we will do this, the first thing is to take them to an adequate parking location,” said Bogor Police Traffic Police KBO, Inspector Ardian Novianto, to journalists at Simpang Gadog, Saturday (30/12/2023).
The second action that the police will take is turning the vehicle around. Then direct the vehicle to the nearest alternative route.
“Then or turn back to the alternative route. We will enter the nearest alternative route, so please take the alternative route,” said Ardian.
“We hope that people who are going to the Puncak area will stick to their arrival time and the time to get to their destination on New Year’s Eve at 21.00 WIB-01.00 WIB,” he continued.
Diversion and CFN at New Year
Previously, Bogor Police Head of Traffic Unit AKP Rizky Guntama said that diversion of vehicle flow was also carried out to minimize the spread of COVID-19. The current diversion will be carried out on December 31, 2023-January 1, 2024.
“To reduce crowding and prevent the increasing spread of COVID-19 on the Puncak route on New Year’s Eve 2024, the Puncak route will be diverted from 18.00 WIB (31 December 2023) to 06.00 WIB (1 January 2024),” Rizky told reporters, Thursday (21/12).
Rizky appealed to vehicles going to Cianjur or Bandung via Puncak to use an alternative route. Motorists can pass via Cariu or Cibadak.
“For those who are going to Cianjur or Bandung, take the alternative route via Jonggol and via Sukabumi,” he said.
Then, the police will implement car free night (CFN) on the Puncak route. Later it will be carried out starting at 21.00 WIB on December 31 2023.
“Starting from 21.00 WIB (31 December 2023) until 02.00 WIB (1 January 2024) there will be a night without vehicles on the Puncak tourist route. Sorry for the inconvenience,” he said.
