Police East Brabant blunders with mail to colleagues with PTSD

The East Brabant police sent an e-mail to more than a hundred (former) police officers with PTSD in which the recipients could see each other’s e-mail addresses.

It concerned an invitation to a contact day for (former) police employees with a post-traumatic stress disorder. An employee put all names and email addresses in the regular address bar of the invitation, instead of hidden in the BCC. Shortly afterwards, an email with an apology was sent to everyone. The police acknowledge and regret the mistake.

One of the invitees is late Broadcasting Brabant know: “If I were to go to a contact day like this, I know that I will meet colleagues or former colleagues. I would choose that, but I never go. Because I don’t want people to know that I have PTSD. I’m embarrassed.”
