Huckingen: done! – 211 inspector candidates complete their dual studies with the Duisburg police

Duisburg (ots) –

In the historic walls of the Huckinger Steinhof, on Thursday (31 August), Duisburg’s chief of police, Alexander Dierselhuis, appointed 211 students from the University of Police and Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia (HSPV NRW) as police commissioners.

The three-year, dual course of study was thus concluded in a festive atmosphere and gives the young police officers the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have learned in theory, training and practice in patrol duty or in the investigative service of the criminal police. In addition to the legal theory lessons, which are accompanied by written performance records, the students have also completed many training units. Among other things, the traffic accident recording, crime scene search, tactical exercises, sports, shooting training, radio training and intervention techniques were on the program. In their specialist internships, the young junior police officers were able to apply what they had learned under the supervision of experienced tutors in the authorities of the districts of Kleve, Wesel and Viersen as well as in the headquarters of Mönchengladbach, Krefeld and Duisburg.

The first star on the epaulettes (candidates are marked by bars) made the young inspectors visibly proud. They shared this pride with Chief of Police Dierselhuis, who also pledged the next generation of patrol officers to the future: “We live in difficult times. You represent the state and are therefore responsible for ensuring that people in our country have faith in democracy.”

The North Rhine-Westphalian police force hires 3,000 commissioner candidates every year. Information on the application requirements for the police is available at: https://www.genau-mein-fall.de/
