Police: Driver of van in Amsterdam ran out of nowhere into officers | NOW

The police in Amsterdam said on Friday that they did not know what the reason for a driver of a van to drive into a police car. In the night from Thursday to Friday, the van would have run into the car three times from nowhere.

Earlier Friday, the police announced that they had fired several warning shots to stop the van. Without success. When the company car passed two police motor vehicles blocking his way, it got stuck on one of the motorcycles.

Despite the bus catching fire, the man refused to leave his vehicle, according to police. When they tried to get the man out, he got aggressive.

“After a while, the suspect fled from the vehicle via the passenger’s side and was immediately arrested with the help of pepper spray,” said the police. “The suspect was taken to hospital after his arrest.”

The incident occurred on Amsterdam’s Muntplein. The police car stopped there with two officers in it. Both agents were able to leave the car in time.

Van was recently sold

The owner of the glass company whose name is on the van informs NU.nl that the company bus in question has recently been sold, but that the new owner has apparently not yet removed the company’s print on the car.
