-The Seoul Metropolitan Agency’s Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Team decided to disapprove of former popular power representative Lee Jun-seok, accused of receiving entertainment as sexual favors from entrepreneurs and providing convenience.

Since 2013, former CEO Lee has been suspected of receiving sexual favors and gifts from IKAIST CEO Kim Seong-jin and, in return, allowed him to meet with then-president Park Geun-hye.

In the case of the suspected “recruitment”, police said the 7-year statute of limitations for cases up to January 2015 had already passed.

In the case of the 2015 Lunar New Year gift and Chuseok’s gift, which were still on the prescription, there was not enough evidence to prove the relationship between the allegations and there was no allegation.

The police also ruled that the five-year statute of limitations had already passed for the former CEO’s “sexual assault” charge.

In 2013, the judgment on the existence or not of sexual favors was not disclosed.

The police, however, kept the spark of the investigation into the former president alive.

The investigation team decided to continue the investigation into the allegation that former CEO Lee attempted to destroy evidence in connection with his sexual harassment allegations and that it was innocent to sue the Garosero Institute officials who first charges raised.

Consequently, the key element in this case, “whether former CEO Lee received sexual favors”, will be revealed in the course of the investigation into the destruction of evidence and the false accusation.

In a phone call with MBC immediately following the announcement of the survey result, former CEO Lee said, “I haven’t received the details of the investigation yet, but I think it’s a natural result to disapprove.”
