Police detained internationally wanted brothers, they were to smuggle people into the EU

Austrian police issued a European arrest warrant in early June over two brothers who were detained by the Czech police in Zlín last week.

“A European arrest warrant was issued by Austrian colleagues for two brothers aged 40 and 47 for smuggling, smuggling foreigners into Austria as members of an organized group, allowing several refugees to enter Austria illegally or transit through Serbia from Austria to Austria , Hungary and Slovakia, “said police spokeswoman Lenka Javorková.

Both foreigners work in the Czech Republic, one of them regularly commuted to work from Slovakia, the other has a temporary stay with us. The younger of the brothers was detained by police during construction work in Zlín, the older one during a roadside check. Both have several entries in the register in the Czech Republic.

“At the end of last week, the Regional Court in Brno decided to take foreigners into pre-trial detention, and in the following days it will be decided to extradite them to police officers in Austria,” Javorková added.
