These ladies obviously did not want a criminal in their meadow.

There were police dogs, now there are police cows. On Tuesday, a resident of Millers Creek (North Carolina) had to submit to a traffic stop because of his dangerous driving. The 34-year-old man obviously had things to blame himself for, since he fled at the wheel of his vehicle. According a statement of the Boone County police, a chase ensued and Joshua Minton ended up abandoning his car in a rural area before fleeing on foot.
As the suspect managed to outrun the police, they had difficulty determining in which direction he had gone. As officers searched the area, they received unlikely help from a herd of cows grazing peacefully in the area. “Apparently the cows don’t want suspected criminals hanging around in their pasture and they quickly helped our officers,” local police said in a statement. The cattle therefore guided the police to where the suspect was hiding.
Arrested, Joshua Minton was indicted for fleeing an arrest with a motor vehicle, driving with a license that was no longer valid and also for disturbing public order. He was released on $20,000 bail and will be tried in June. “In addition to thanking our officers and agents for putting themselves in harm’s way, we obviously want to express our gratitude to the cows for their assistance,” the statement concluded.
