Despite the images, the police warned that there will be no charges against the head of security for the young star of San Antonio Spurs.
No charges will be filed after a brief investigation into the altercation involving the pop star, Britney Spearsto the rookie of the Spurs of Saint Antonio Victor Wembanyama and a member of the player’s security team, Las Vegas police said Friday.
Spears said she had been hit by a security guard while trying to get close to The animal near a restaurant in a Las Vegas casino complex Wednesday night. The French player said that a person, who he was later told was Spears, had grabbed him from behind.
Spears filed a report with police, alleging assault. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said its investigation into her had been concluded and “no charges will be filed against the person involved.”
Parallel to this information, the TMZ site in the United States released the video of the moment in which the singer tries to approach the young French athlete and receives a blow from one of his guards.
Wembanyama is scheduled to make his NBA Summer League debut with the Spurs in Las Vegas on Friday night.
The 7-foot-2 French teenager was the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft last month and comes into the league as highly regarded as any since LeBron James in 2003.
The altercation occurred on Wednesday night; Spears said she recognized Wembanyama at another hotel earlier and when she saw him again at the Aria Resort & Casino “she decided to go up to him and congratulate him on her success.”
Spears said that “her security pushed me with her hand in my face without looking back, in front of a crowd. She nearly knocked me over and caused my glasses to fall off.”
