After a classmate allegedly called him a “terrorist” and an ethnic slur, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa had an expression of “pure anger” on her face when she beat the student in November 2017 to the point of causing the teenagers to bleed, according to a police report from the Arvada, Colorado Police Department.

Alissa, the 21-year-old accused of killing 10 people in Monday’s mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado, pleaded guilty to third-degree assault charges while still at Arvada West High School, according to police records. The records were first reported by the Daily Beast and KDVR.

Alissa told police at the time that a classmate had been bullying him in various ways over the course of a year, from calling him a “terrorist” to posting Snapchat videos in which the student allegedly called Alissa a “nerd.” .

Violence

On November 27, 2017, math teacher Stephanie Bashford was about to finish her fifth period class when she heard some students yelling, according to police. When she turned around, the teacher allegedly saw Alissa punch the student in the face. Alissa continued to assault the teenager until she and another student broke up the altercation, police said.

The teacher told police that Alissa “had a” look of pure anger “on her face when she hit” the student.

Alissa acknowledged to the Arvada officers that she didn’t remember much of the incident. The reason, he said, was because he “couldn’t take it anymore.”

In the police report, the authorities indicated that the classmate was “crying and vomiting” when the boy’s father arrived.
