Police Conduct School Route Checks to Ensure Safety of NBC Shooters in Kandel and Hagenbach: Seatbelt Violations, Cell Phone Use, and Defect Reports Uncovered

Kandel / Hagenbach (ots)

At the start of the new school year, school route checks were carried out by the police in Kandel and Hagenbach to ensure the safety of the NBC shooters. At the primary school in Kandel there were two violations of the seatbelt requirement in the morning hours, one violation for using a cell phone while driving and two reports of defects.

At the elementary school in Hagenbach, three children were transported in the vehicle without any security. The check was carried out by the police in cooperation with the public order office of the VG Hagenbach. The event for the first graders to start school at the cultural center was also monitored around 10 a.m. The drivers behaved in an exemplary manner. In addition to the obligation for children to wear seat belts and child seats in the vehicle and the responsibility of their legal guardians, the police also point out that school bags must be transported properly. These are best transported in the trunk. School bags in the footwell in front of the children or even in the back seat pose an increased risk of accidents and can seriously injure the children.
