Polda Metro Jaya is still investigating the case of alleged extortion by KPK leaders against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). The police also conducted a search of the KPK chairman’s house Firli Bahuri which is located in Bekasi.
“Yes, there was a search,” said RT head, Rony Napitupulu when contacted, Thursday (26/10/2023).
Rony said that until now the police were at the location. The search, he continued, had just begun.
“There are already (many police),” he said.
detikcom has informed Polda Metro Jaya regarding this matter but there has been no response. Meanwhile, when met at the BPMJ building, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto also did not answer clearly.

Meanwhile, in the South Jakarta area, a house said to be related to Firli was also visited by the police this afternoon. A car bearing the name Polda Metro Jaya was parked near the house.
As is known, the SYL extortion case was reported to Polda Metro Jaya on August 12 2023. Public complaints were made regarding alleged blackmail by KPK leaders in handling cases at the Ministry of Agriculture in 2021.
The police then carried out a series of investigations by clarifying and collecting evidence in the case. After a case was held, the case moved to the investigation stage on Friday (6/10).
At least 3 suspected cases were found, including extortion, receiving gratuities, or receiving gifts related to handling cases at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).
Dozens of witnesses have been questioned since the case moved to the investigation stage, including former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). Apart from that, there are Semarang Police Chief Commissioner Irwan Anwar, Firli Bahuri’s aide, Kevin Egananta, Director of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Dumas Tomi Murtomo, and expert witnesses from former KPK Deputy Chairmen Saut Situmorang and Mochammad Jasin.
Most recently, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri has also been questioned by Polda Metro Jaya. Firli was originally questioned on Friday (20/10) last week. However, Firli was absent on the grounds that he needed to study the examination material and there were other activities for the KPK chairman that had been scheduled.
Polda Metro Jaya also rescheduled the inspection for Tuesday (24/10). However, in a letter to investigators, Firli Bahuri asked to be questioned at Bareskrim Polri even though the case was being handled by the Corruption Sub-Directorate, Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya.
