Police Chief Marek Boroń had an accident. “The car overturned”

The police reported in a statement that Senior Superintendent Marek Boroń was heading to the Opole region, where the situation was difficult due to heavy rains. The text stated that at approximately 5:55 p.m. on the A1 motorway towards Gliwice, near the town of Szałsza (Zbrosławice commune, Tarnowskie Góry district), “a road accident occurred involving a police official vehicle” in which the Chief Commander was travelling.

“Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt,” we read. The police reported that the passengers and driver were tested for alcohol content in their bodies and that they were sober. The statement added that the participants in the incident were subjected to tests by medical services. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration and the Control Office of the Police Headquarters were notified of the case. “Activities are underway to establish all the circumstances of this incident,” it was assured. According to officers, there were no major traffic disruptions at the scene.

More details about the accident were provided by the media. RMF FM reported that Senior Inspector Marek Boroń, accompanied by two people, was heading to flood-prone areas when the car he was driving overturned. According to this report, all three people in the vehicle were conscious after the accident and were taken to hospital for tests. The Chief Police Commander reportedly complained of pain – perhaps it was an injury related to the seat belts.

In turn, TVN24 reported that the car with Senior Inspector Boroń was involved in an accident when the commander was heading to Głuchołazy. According to this source, no other vehicles were involved in the accident. As we read, in addition to the commander, there was also a driver and an officer from the Police Headquarters in the car, and all three were taken to a hospital in Katowice for tests. In an interview with TVN24, police spokeswoman Katarzyna Nowak assessed that the cause of the accident could have been difficult weather conditions.
