Police chief inspector Florian Mohr hands over donation to Darmstädter Hilfe as a professional advice center for victims and witnesses in South Hesse eV

Darmstadt (ots) – A hike with the aim of collecting donations for five non-profit organizations was the goal of the South Hessian police chief inspector Florian Mohr, who put his idea into action at the end of March. With the start in Groß-Gerau, the policeman set out on foot to Werder and began his several hundred kilometer journey to the Weser Stadium in Bremen. After a total of 16 days and 450 kilometers, the 41-year-old happily and proudly reached his goal together with his companion dog Diego. Thanks to media attention and numerous supporters on his way, the man from Dornheim collected a total of 53,155 euros for the children’s hospice Bärenhilfe in Wiesbaden, the sanctuary “Kellerranch” in Weiterstadt, the children’s cancer aid Mainz, the Werder Bremen Foundation and the advice center “Darmstädter Hilfe eV”.

On Thursday (May 27th) at 11 am, Florian Mohr handed over the considerable donation of 10,309.86 euros to “Darmstädter Hilfe eV” in the large, historic meeting room of the Darmstadt District Court.

In a solemn round and in compliance with the distance and hygiene rules, the police officer presented the board members and employees with the donation check. As a board member of the advice center, Police President Bernhard Lammel was very pleased and emphasized: “It makes me proud that we have employees who, beyond their professional boundaries as police officers, are committed to society in their private lives and the important work of the advice centers for victims and support witnesses. ” The two other board members of Darmstädter Hilfe, district court president Markus Herrlein and Dr. Christoph Gebhardt, Dipl. The “Darmstädter Hilfe” is a registered association in southern Hesse, which started its work in May 2018. It serves as a contact point for people who have become victims or witnesses of a crime.
