Police checks planned in five states: Baden-Württemberg

Neu-Ulm / Ulm (dpa) – In five federal states, the police want to show a special presence on Tuesday and thus strengthen the feeling of security among citizens. The so-called security day will take place in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) announced on Monday.

“With the day of cross-border security, we are strengthening the joint research and investigation work,” he said. Visible police presence and the feeling of security will be improved. “In addition, the wide range of prevention offerings is very helpful in preventing someone from becoming the victim of a crime,” said Herrmann.

The cross-border “Security Day” is held for the fifth time. In the Free State, a different police headquarters participate in the campaign each year. This time it is the Swabian South / West Presidium. There are around 100 control actions and crime prevention offers, for example on freeways, parks and train stations. Police officers from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are expected to patrol together in Neu-Ulm and Ulm, as well as in the Lake Constance region.
