Police checks for Easter: 4 people under house arrest

On the occasion of the Easter holidays, the control activity of the State Police in the area was intensified Salerno also with the aim of avoiding possible critical situations arising from the worrying international situation and its ongoing nature terrorist threat. The topic was discussed at the meeting of the Committee for Public Order and Security, chaired by the Prefect of Salerno Francesco Espositofollowing which complex territorial control services were arranged which involved all the Police Forces.

On the basis of the guidelines defined in the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, the Salerno Police Commissioner has prepared the intensification of territorial control services throughout the provincial territory. The patrols particularly concentrated thepay attention to places of worship and on areas of maximum concentration of citizens and tourists: the checks covered the Salerno port area and the railway stations, as well as all local public areas.

The joint checks which began on Friday and continued until Easter Monday were concentrated both in the suburbs and in the city center of Salerno and in the main centers of the province.

As part of the activity, the following were checked by the State Police:

• 515 people whose 76 with a police record;
• 14 non-EU citizens;
• 6 public establishments;
• 210 vehicles;
• 4 people subjected to house arrest.
