City after criticism: Neustadt still has to work through the incidents
The Neustadt city administration is now being criticized for having underestimated the situation and relativizing the incidents. Volunteers at the Neustadt NS memorial site and members of the Alliance Against Right, who had information stands on site, said they had been attacked by lateral thinkers and Reich citizens and had been thrown at them with rubbish.
The city of Neustadt, on the other hand, defended its actions. They take the criticism seriously, it said, and want to work through the incidents. The city is still in talks with those affected by the Nazi memorial and the Alliance against the Right. According to the city, there were a lot of disturbances from the demonstrators at Hambach Castle, but the situation remained largely peaceful.
Landau wants to avoid second Hambach
The protests by lateral thinkers and Reich citizens in Neustadt have also alarmed the Landau city administration. On Thursday, the city declared a ban on the “duck race” planned for June 11 on Children’s Day. Two demonstrations had been registered for the day under the motto “White like Hambach”. The city of Landau wants to prevent that. The ban mile is intended to keep the protesters out of the city center.
