Police check corona rules at Easter

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Numerous police officers checked compliance with the corona rules in the southwest over Easter. In focus: day trippers and the tuning scene, which traditionally met on “Car Friday”. The officers found hundreds of violations. For example, the Constance police checked popular locations on the tuner and speeder scene throughout the weekend, as the officials announced on Easter Monday. A police officer was injured.

According to the information, many drivers met with their cars on Good Friday at various parking lots in the Schwarzwald-Baar district. At peak times there were around 300 to 400 vehicles. In addition, according to the police, “young adults willing to party” joined them. During a speed measurement, the security forces found a car traveling at 150 km / h – about 45 kilometers per hour too fast.

At the weekend the scene met in Villingen-Schwenningen. On Holy Saturday there were about 300 vehicles, on Easter Sunday more than 400, it said. There were also more than 500 onlookers. The officials stopped all gatherings and sent them off. A 21-year-old hit a police officer in the face. The emergency services had also been pelted with beverage cans. In addition to insults and damage to property, the police punished more than 100 violations of the Corona rules.

In Singen in the Konstanz district, well-known scene meeting points were cordoned off in advance on Good Friday and a ban on collecting vehicles was ordered. Therefore, there were only isolated meetings. The officials found four violations of the Corona regulation and six speed violations. In addition, the operating license had expired for eight vehicles. So-called car posers also met in other cities in the southwest: in Offenburg around 250, in Mannheim around 40.

In the Rhine-Neckar region, the police also checked numerous people at Easter. Around 70 additional officers were deployed in Mannheim, Heidelberg and in the Rhein-Neckar district. A total of 928 vehicles and 2310 people were examined more closely. The officials found 732 violations of the corona rules. It was mostly about violations of the mask requirement and the contact restrictions.

Excursion destinations such as Heidelberg Castle were particularly popular on the Easter weekend. Up to 1000 people were on the city’s Neckarwiese on Saturday. The officials pointed out the rules to 15 groups of people from more than two households. Most of the day trippers adhered to the regulations. The number of visitors in Mannheim was therefore manageable; the rules were largely adhered to here as well.

The police also registered several corona parties. In Waibstadt (Rhein-Neckar-Kreis) she controlled a group of 20 who had settled down for a celebration at beer tables. Around 70 drunk people who violated distance rules and mask requirements met on a square in Mannheim. Around 150 corona violations were reported to the police in Freiburg on Good Friday night and Easter. The officials also dissolved a party with more than 20 participants in a forest near Badenweiler (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district). The guests were displayed.
