Earlier, the Joint Independent Fact Finding Team (TGIPF) for the Kanjuruhan tragedy found that CCTV footage at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, had been canceled. The deleted footage was from CCTV cameras in the main concourse and parking lot with a duration of 3 hours and 21 minutes.

This result was revealed in the TGIPF Kanjuruhan Tragedy report presented to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) last Friday (14/10). TGIPF said CCTV initially recorded the Barracuda series movement that was about to evacuate the Persebaya Team.

“The initial movement of the Barracuda series, which will evacuate the Persebaya Team, can be recorded via CCTV in the main concourse and parking area,” said the TGIPF results as seen on Monday (17/10/2022) .

However, CCTV only shows 1 hour and 21 minute footage. Meanwhile, TGIPF continued, the next 3 hours and 21 minutes were lost.

“But the CCTV footage starting at 22.21.30 can be recorded with a duration of 1 hour and 21 minutes, then the recording is lost (erased) for 3 hours, 21 minutes, 54 seconds, then the recording reappears for 15 minutes. “continued TGIPF.

The TGIPF said that the loss of the length of the recording hampered their task of revealing the truth about the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium which killed 132 people.

The TGIPF also admitted that they are trying to request a full registration from the police.

“The loss of CCTV footage makes it difficult or hinders the TGIPF team’s task of uncovering the facts and efforts are being made to request a full recording at the National Police Headquarters,” TGIPF wrote.
