Police chase dirt bike that flees in Utrecht’s Kanaleneiland district

The police posted a video on YouTube that was recently recorded in the Kanaleneiland district of Utrecht. The video shows a dirt bike being chased through the neighborhood by a motorcycle cop.

In the video, the police come to a report of nuisance caused by a motorcycle or scooter. As soon as the police get in sight of the dirt bike in question, the driver takes off. The motorcycle cop gives chase and has to make a lot of fast maneuvers to keep up with the agile dirt bike.

After a few minutes of chasing between cars and across the sidewalk, the dirt bike slides down on the sidewalk next to a playground. The driver runs off on foot, leaving his dirt bike behind. The video shows a discussion between bystanders and the police.

The driver of the dirt bike has not been found, but has been recognized by the local police officer. He was later interrogated. An official report has been drawn up against the suspect and the dirt bike has been seized and destroyed.
