Police car crashed into a car during an emergency

In a press release from the West police district, the police write about a traffic accident between a police car and a private car.

The accident is said to have occurred in connection with a jerk after a report of a boat that had run aground.

– There will be major material damage to both cars, and the extent of damage to those involved is currently unknown – but both those involved are awake and aware, writes operations manager in the West police district, Ole Ronny Olsen, in the press release.

The accident must have happened in Godsøysundvegen on the way to Våge on Tysnes.

The road is now closed and the case is being investigated further.

Boat went ashore

The police were notified of the boat accident at 21.10.

A boat driver had run ashore at Tysnes. The driver is awake and is being treated by a doctor.

It was the fire brigade in 110 West that saved the man.

– We had to use a private boat to get to the island. We transported him on from there to a rescue helicopter with a doctor, says acting guard in 110 West, Shahrooz Lahooti.

Lahooti has no information about the extent of the damage or the course of events.

The boat must have been found on land with the engine on.

It should be a 30 foot wooden boat. The boat is still ashore at 22.40 and it is now being considered whether the boat can be towed off. It writes Hovedredningssentralen Sør-Norge on Twitter.

West police district writes that further investigative steps are underway.

110 Vest writes on Twitter that they are now considering further action on the ground support boat.

It was Hovedredningssentralen Sør-Norge that first reported the incident at 2145 on Sunday.
