In the last few hours, the National Civil Police (PNC) captured 16 minors and 2 adults whom they accuse of trying to form an MS13 clique in Jiquilisco, department of Usulután.
“We report the arrest of 2 adults and 16 minors, who were trying to establish the Vatos Locos Salvatruchos clique in Cruzadilla de San Juan, Jiquilisco, Usulután,” the police reported.
The arrests are due to complaints from residents of the area, who noticed the behavior among those captured, and that graffiti alluding to the gang began to reappear.
“In recent days, residents reported that there was graffiti alluding to the gang in several places and after an Intelligence operation, all the members of the clique were captured,” confirmed the police force.
The police also said that paint sprays that they used to stain the walls with gang symbols were seized from the minors. “We are not going to allow anyone to try to reorganize terrorist groups in the country,” the authorities stated.
This week the Legislative Assembly approved the 25th extension of the emergency regime, which has allowed the capture of almost 80 thousand people accused of being gang members or collaborating with these terrorist structures. Despite the work of security elements, dozens of people suspected of refusing to leave the gangs are captured every week.
