Police can’t detain Shahnaz Anindya’s husband on suspicion of domestic violence, here’s why

The police named the husband of the famous person Shahnaz AnindyaTaufiq Hermawan alias Altaf Vickoas a domestic violence suspect against his wife. However, the police did not arrest Altaf Vicko.

“So the suspect is not detained, but he has to report on Monday and Thursday. Before being named as P21, he is still going to report. After that we will forward it to the Prosecutor’s Office,” said the Head of Public Relations of the South. Jakarta Metro Police AKP Nurma Dewi to reporters, Monday (19/8/2024).

Nurma explained the reason why the police did not arrest Altaf Vicko. The reason is because the sentence in the case that accused Altaf as a suspect was under 5 years in prison.

“(The reason why he will not be detained) is because the sentence for the case is only 4 years. So under 5 years it is not necessary to be detained,” he said.

Previously, Shahnaz Anindya reported her husband, Altaf Vicko, to the South Jakarta Metro Police on suspicion of domestic violence. Police said Altaf Vicko was named as a domestic violence suspect.

“So SA told the South Jakarta Metro Police. Then the South Jakarta Metro Police investigators followed him,” said AKP Nurma.

Nurma said that the report was made on September 7, 2023. Shahnaz reported the psychological violence allegedly committed by Altaf Vicko according to Article 45 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2004.

“What is clear is that the psychological examination was done. The post-mortem said that there was psychological violence. Psychologically, for example there was speech, then mental. But not for physical (violence),” he said.

Shahnaz admitted to the police that domestic violence had happened several times. The police also conducted a case to identify the suspect on June 10. Based on the existing evidence, Altaf Vicko was named as a suspect.

“Then we examined 5 witnesses, followed by post-mortems in Kramat Jati, then named someone as a suspect,” said Nurma.
