Police Berlin is looking for decoy “Leonie”

In Berlin, the police are looking for a young stranger who is said to have acted as a decoy for an attack on a 27-year-old. On Wednesday, the officials published a photo of the suspect and asked the public for help.

According to the police, the 27-year-old victim and the suspect, who presented himself to him as “Leonie”, met in November 2020 on social media. On the evening of November 26, 2020, the man invited the suspect to his apartment in Prenzlauer Berg to meet her.

Berlin: Wanted is said to have left robbers in the apartment

There, the wanted person is said to have let four suspected accomplices into the apartment around 9:15 p.m. The hooded men are said to have threatened the 27-year-old with a pistol, brought him to the ground and tied his arms behind his back. They then searched the man’s apartment and stole a mobile phone, cash and a car key, it said. They are said to have used the key to steal the 27-year-old’s car.

After the alleged robbers had left the apartment, the victim was able to free himself from his bonds and alerted the police through neighbors. The suspects themselves sent the published selfie to the 27-year-old as part of getting to know each other, the officials continued.

Police Berlin asks for witnesses

The police now asks:

  • Who can provide information about their identity or whereabouts?
  • Who made unusual observations on the evening of November 26, 2020?
  • Who can provide further relevant information?
