Police arrest three drivers possibly under the influence of drugs, including military service member

The police arrested three drivers on the night from Saturday to Sunday who were possibly under the influence of drugs.

A 21-year-old driver from Grootegast failed to give way to a police car on the Provincialeweg in Sebaldeburen. The officers pulled the man aside, where he tested positive for THC (the main active ingredient in hashish and weed) during a saliva test.

On the Boerakkerweg in Niebert, a 41-year-old driver from the municipality of Westerkwartier tested positive for cocaine.

And on the Rijkstraatweg in Noordhorn, a 51-year-old resident of Groningen stood out because of his driving behavior. This driver was in military service and was taken over by the Royal Military Police.

All drivers have been banned from driving for 24 hours. Blood has been taken from the three and is being sent for testing. They may then receive a report.
