The Palembang Police General Criminal Investigation Unit arrested JT, the perpetrator persecution nurse Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital Palembang, Friday (16/4) night. The perpetrator was picked up by the police at his residence in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra without resistance.
The Head of the Palembang Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit Pidum, Adjunct Commissioner Robert P Sihombing, confirmed the arrest. Robert immediately led the arrest after having sufficient evidence
“The perpetrator has been arrested at his residence and is now being investigated,” said Robert.
Currently JT is still undergoing investigations by the General Criminal Investigators of the Palembang Police, Satreskrim.
Head of the Palembang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner Tri Wahyudi, was reluctant to provide further information regarding the arrest and examination of JT. It is not certain whether JT has been named a suspect or not.
“Tomorrow will be released at 06.00,” said Tri briefly.
It is known, one of the nurses at Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital Palembang, South Sumatra, Christina Ramauli S (28) reported that one of the patient’s family with the initials JT went to the Palembang Police for mistreating her, Friday (16/4). As a result of this incident, Christina suffered bruises on her face and stomach.
The video of Christina’s violence went viral on social media after being uploaded by the Instagram account @perawat_peduli_palembang. In the 35-second video, the reported JT, wearing a white hat and red shirt, is seen grabbing Christina, who has just been helped to stand up from a sitting position by her colleague.
It appears that security officers and hospital visitors intervened and prevented JT from persecuting Christina again. The victim then ran away from JT to save himself.
JT also admitted to being a member of the police when he tried to break up. This was admitted by the nurses and security officers who were present when JT persecuted nurse Christina Ramauli.
Currently nurse Christina is being treated for the injuries she sustained. The victim also experienced psychological trauma after the incident. Hospital management has submitted evidence of CCTV footage and the nurses who are witnesses to the incident to complete the case files needed by the police.
