The police are looking for witnesses to a possible serious assault on a 21-year-old man in East or in the center. The victim was found on Thursday morning, January 25, on the Borneokade in East, near his home.
The police distributed a message about the assault via Burgernet. The victim was at a party in West on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. He cycled home with a friend around 3:45 am, but at Alexanderplein she chose her own path and the victim continued alone.
Three o’clock
The victim should actually have been home after seven minutes, but it took three hours. He may have been abused or otherwise injured in the area between Alexanderplein and Borneokade between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
“He was cycling on an old, high black men’s bicycle with a luggage rack,” the police wrote. “Who has seen anything related to an assault or an accident?”
Brief
Relatives of the victim distributed a letter in the neighborhood at the beginning of this month. They wrote that the injured man was helped by a local resident who rang their doorbell. The 21-year-old man had lost his keys and bicycle. According to the police, an examination at the hospital revealed that he had ‘very serious injuries to his head’.
Witnesses who have seen people behaving strangely, saw suspicious vehicles or have camera images are asked to come forward.
