Kadiv Public Relations of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said the group evacuation team Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Rusdi Harto, who made an emergency landing at Bukit Tamia, Muara Emat, Kerinci, will anticipate wild animals.
“We are also anticipating wild animals, we have parameters. The Mobile Brigade members there are also sufficient to protect victims,” said Dedi in a press conference, Monday (20/2).
Dedi said that currently his party has not been able to evacuate. However, his party has deployed members to protect victims and the medical team.
“Until today, our main priority is medical treatment (not yet evacuating). Food and drink is enough,” he said.
According to him, the evacuation process was also temporarily stopped while waiting for the weather to improve.
“The main obstacle is the weather is foggy, there will be lightning, so the process will be stopped. Until now, the air route evacuation process has been halted,” said Dedi in a press conference, Monday (20/2).
According to him, the deadline for the evacuation of the BMKN and the SAR team in Merangin and Kerinci is 8 p.m. If the weather improves, the process will continue.
“If the weather does not allow it until 8 pm today, then the evacuation will be carried out tomorrow morning. Hopefully tomorrow it will be sunny like when we unloaded logistics. We will do it at 6 am because at that time the weather allows it,” he said.
Previously, Head of BBTNKS Region I Kerinci Nur Hamidi said the Super Bell 3001 helicopter emergency landing site was within the Kerinci Seblat National Park area which was filled with animals such as tigers, deer and others.
“Tigers are still found in that area. In fact, many deer are found there. Deer are hunted animals by their fathers (tiger),” said Nur Hamidi.
The heart of the forest is hills overgrown with dense trees. It gets very cold there at night, especially when it rains.
“The potential for hypothermia for helicopter passengers really depends on each person’s physical condition,” said Nur.
