Police and ex-military personnel among protesters who invaded the Capitol

At least 21 former members of the United States army and the US police were identified in the January 6 demonstrations, which culminated in the invasion of the Capitol, or in the vicinity of the protests. Another 12 are under investigation and have not yet been identified by the authorities.

The suspicions about the participation of members of the military forces in the assault on the Capitol in Washington began to be raised after several of the protesters, who wore helmets and bulletproof vests, lined up in a single line, clinging to the collar of who was ahead, to enter the building.

This formation, known as “Ranger File”, is a standard operation for combat teams whose mission is to break into buildings and easily recognized by any military personnel who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan, reveals the investigation by the Associated Press news agency (AP).

In addition, many of the attackers used tactics, personal protection and technology, like radio headphones similar to those of the police themselves.

These details are a clear sign of how some of the participants had military training or were trained by military personnel, argues the AP.

The FBI, which has already detained dozens of protesters who invaded the citadel of American freedom, continues to search for several suspects and has asked for help, on its social networks, such as Twitter, to identify several people.
