The Bremen consumer center and the Bremen police work closely together. Together, the partners want to protect consumers from property, property and internet crime as well as from violations of legal regulations.
Whether internet crime, lack of data protection, dubious debt collection companies, rip-offs in outpatient care, key services or burglar-proof and at the same time energy-saving doors and windows – there are many thematic interfaces between the Bremen consumer center and the Bremen police. That is why the Vice President of the Police of the City of Bremen, Dirk Fasse, and the Board Member of the Bremen Consumer Center, Dr. Annabel Oelmann, signed an agreement for closer cooperation. “The prevention of property and property crime as well as Internet crime by educating and informing consumers: inside is a common concern of the police and consumer advice center”, emphasized both cooperation partners.
Joint prevention work
Both the consumer advice center and the police receive valuable information and approaches for joint prevention work through their many citizen contacts in the context of counseling discussions or advertisements. “Consumers are increasingly exposed to professional forms of property and property crime as well as internet crime,” says Annabel Oelmann, Member of the Board of the Bremen Consumer Center. Dirk Fasse, Police Vice President of the State of Bremen adds: “Combating these forms of crime and the associated dangers is a central task and a particular challenge for the police.” also in court. Dirk Fasse praises: “We need strong partners by our side like the consumer advice center – that’s why I’m looking forward to working with you.”
Education and exchange
Both institutions want to raise consumer awareness of the dangers to property and assets as well as of the risks posed by cyber crime and give recommendations for action in order to avoid possible damage in advance.
“The digital world is constantly changing, and so are the methods of fraudsters and rip-offs. A common focus of action will be increased awareness-raising in the area of cyber crime, ”said Dirk Fasse. “Even offline we have a lot of common issues, whether grandchildren, dubious debt collection companies or, just now again, key services,” confirms Annabel Oelmann.
Joint events
Among other things, a joint free online lecture is being considered, such as the one on March 1st at 5 pm on the subject of “Burglary protection – security for your home” together with the Bremer Aufbaubank.
