Marion Ramsey, the star of the American comedy “Police Academy”, has died at the age of 73. The news was reported by the BBC, citing its agent. Ramsey died at her home in Los Angeles after she soon became seriously ill.
Fans adored Ramsey for her portrayal of Officer Laverne Hooks in the Police Academy comedy series and were in love with her incredible voice.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1947, Ramsey began her career in theater, with a number of Broadway appearances. Ramsey was especially proud of Dreamgirls.
Ramsey’s career in television and film began after she appeared as a guest on the hit series The Jeffersons in 1976. Besides being an actress, she is also a talented singer.
