Polda Metro Threatens Not to Extend Special RF Plate, This is the Cause… Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Polda Metro Jaya has threatened not to issue an extension of a special vehicle plate with an RF rear number plate if it commits repeated violations.

This was conveyed by Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo. It is known that many cars with special number plates do traffic violations in Jakarta.

“Of course this will be our record, including if the vehicle violates more than once we will record and we will not extend the secret STNK,” said Sambodo in his statement, Friday (21/1/2022).

Notes Kompas.com, a car with an RF license plate number is a vehicle for state officials, echelon II and above, to ministers. This plate is used instead of the red plate.

Previously, Sambodo revealed that there were 124 violations committed by vehicles with special license plates from Monday (17/1/2022) to Wednesday (19/1/2022).

“Since last Monday, in three days, there have been 124 vehicles with special or secret STNK plates that we have followed up with with a ticket,” Sambodo said at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Wednesday.

The drivers of these cars were fined for violating odd even rule, stop on the shoulder of the road, to use the rotator and siren.

In fact, said Sambodo, drivers of vehicles with special license plates still have to follow the applicable traffic rules.

“Users or vehicle owners who use a special or secret STNK say that the vehicle is legally obligated to follow the applicable traffic rules,” said Sambodo.

Sambodo said that the majority of motorists with special license plates violated the law because they felt they were above the law and were free from the rules.

“Most of the reasons stated to my members that they felt the vehicle was odd-even free,” said Sambodo.
