The General Chairperson of the United Indonesia Volunteers as well as the reporter Rocky Gerung, Lisman Hasibuan asked Polda Metro Jaya to immediately summon Rocky. This questioned his report regarding the alleged insult that Rocky had committed against President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Hopefully this case can continue and Rocky will be summoned soon,” Lisman told reporters at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday (3/8/2023).
Lisman said, today he has undergone clarification regarding his report. He said the evidence handed over to investigators was being coordinated with experts.
“The results of today’s coordination between me and Polda Metro Jaya investigators are that yesterday all the experts were gathered to confirm and examine the evidence attached to my report,” he said.
On the other hand, Lisman highlighted the distribution of photos of Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto with Rocky Gerung amid the heat of the alleged insult case against the President. He suspects that there are parties who are riding or taking advantage in the heat of this case.
“I see a third party taking advantage of this case by making a photo of Prabowo and Rocky viral, even though we checked it was an old photo, but it was released when this case was going viral,” said Lisman.
He also suspects that there is an attempt by other parties to pit the parties against each other by re-displaying old photos between Prabowo and Rocky. He ensured that his reporting to Polda Metro was not politically driven.
“There are parties who want to pit Jokowi against Prabowo over the Rocky Gerung case which has become a public concern. I hope Rocky will be investigated and arrested soon,” he added.
Separately, Dirkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said that until now the police were still reviewing 3 reports related to the same case at Polda Metro. The police summoned a number of experts to investigate the criminal elements in this report regarding Rocky Gerung.
“Seeking and finding an event that is suspected of being a crime in order to determine whether or not an investigation can be carried out according to the method stipulated in the law. Among other things, coordination and clarification of experts (criminal experts, linguists, legal sociologists, ITE experts and other experts),” said Dirkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.
