On Tuesday, September 13, the anti-aggression brigade of the Brussels Capital-Ixelles police area arrested the suspect of a theft at the Mont des Arts.

It was the victim who had come to file a complaint at the police headquarters of the center for the theft of his backpack. The latter contained his iPad, which was geolocalized. Thanks to this signal it was possible to follow the movements of the stolen objects.
Arriving on the spot, the inspectors observed, near the Chaussée de Boondael, a suspect who was already known to them, among other things, for acts of theft. The individual behaved nervously and was in possession of a backpack. He was arrested and transferred to the police station for questioning.
The backpack actually contained the victim’s stolen items, including an iPad. Everything has been returned to him. The suspect, staying illegally, received a direct summons after the hearing and will soon appear in court.
