Within Facebook Connect 2021 not everything was destined for virtual reality. Augmented reality was also talked about, especially under the experience of creating filters in a more instantaneous and easy way. All this will be possible thanks to the Polar app. What does this mean for the developer community?
The Meta company announced a new application that seeks to increase the number of filter creators in the world, using an app that allows you to create basic or standard effects. To get out of the way, users will be able to create some filters using templates, predetermined structures with little effort and above all without using heavy hardware.
The future app for iOS, called Polar, will allow to build filters oriented to Instagram and Facebook massifying augmented reality. This is evident because, lately, the efforts directed by Meta have been to promote video through Reels or other experiences. The application seems to be still in production but they have already announced that there will be a closed beta phase at the end of the year.
The app will be free and they will seek to massify augmented reality under the Meta seal.
Polar app: Will it be an inconvenience to the community?
Many users have been concerned about how this can affect the image of “creating filters”, since overcrowding also brings with it the ease and therefore the image that anyone can create effects without little knowledge. This can also generate the idea, on the part of the client, that if it is “easy” then it must cost cheap. Will it allow augmented reality to grow even more?
