This is a review of the sports watch “Polar Grit X” released by Polar in the spring of 2020. I borrowed it from the manufacturer and tried using it for a while because “You like exercise, right?”
Originally, Polar sports watches are my personal favorite as “masters”. The impression is that it’s a friendly Apple Watch and a polite and serious Polar.
I like Polar’s “Nightly Recharge” sleep status measurement feature. If you take a bath and warm up and then sleep, it will give you a solid compliment. I want to cherish the daily lifestyle that tends to be neglected.
So, the features of this “Polar Grit X” are the built-in GPS, compass and altitude meter. Completely outdoor specifications. It also has “Nightly Recharge”! The price is 59,800 yen (excluding tax).
When you actually use it, it’s a sports watch that makes you feel like “Oh, it’s fun to exercise.” It measures my movements from my wrist and tells me it in an easy-to-understand manner. And I thought, “It’s not the case when I’m walking on a flat road.”
Complimented at the gym
First appearance. The model I borrowed this time has a silver stainless steel body and a green tundra wristband.
It weighs about 64g including the wristband. It’s light considering its toughness, and I didn’t think it was “heavy!”
It’s cool as a watch, isn’t it? At the gym, some trainers (macho) bothered me to say, “That’s good.” It seems to tickle the man’s heart.
However, the “Polar Grit X” is a waste watch to use only in the gym. “Polar Ignite” is also recommended for the purpose of doing muscle training, getting a good night’s sleep, and moving hard every day.
The “Polar Grit X” is a sports watch that shines when you go outside and use it on sloping ground. For great adventures.
Just walking is not enough
“Polar Grit X” has a Hill Splitter function. It is a function to measure how much the route you have moved up and down and how fast you can move.
However, when I took a walk in the neighborhood, the Hill Splitter didn’t say yes or no, probably because it was a flat route.
So, I decided to walk along the route that somehow felt like “This is a pretty slope”. The route is from Futakotamagawa in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo to Nitori in Yoga.

This height difference graph is insanely interesting. Somehow, the price is properly set for the land that I thought was “Slope”. I want to see cross-sectional views of various slopes. What if I climb a mountain?
Even though it’s shining like this, even if you forget to charge it for 4 to 5 days, it’s messy. And because the charging speed is fast, you can fully charge it while taking a bath. Kind to all.
A training recommendation guide called FitSpark is also fun. They will make various suggestions according to the recovery situation and the exercise level of the person.
By the way, iPhone users can use the data of Polar’s management app “Polar Flow” as the source of the “Healthcare” app. Thanks to this collaboration, when I put on my Apple Watch the day after wearing a Polar product and exercising hard, it praises me, “Yesterday was amazing!” It’s better to have as many compliments as possible, so let’s work together.
Even for sports enthusiasts, 2020 was a really tough year. When I check the amount of activity this year on “Polar Flow” and “Fitness”, I can’t seem to move with the momentum of “What is this?” However, there are many sports that you can enjoy safely, such as climbing slopes and mountains, stretching your legs a little farther, and riding a bicycle. Climbing the hill with Grit X is a lot of fun!
