The plane carrying 30 passengers landed near the river thinking it was the runway. The plane landed in the Kolyma River, which flows through the village of Siriyanka in eastern Russia. The Kolyma River was frozen in winter. Time passes in the snow as people get out of the plane and walk over the river. They walked very slowly up the river. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

The incident happened on December 28. Siriyanka Airport is parallel to the banks of the Kolyma River. Polar Airlines Antonov AN-24 RV aircraft (RA-47821) on arrival found the runway obscured by snow. Since there was no light to mark the runway, the pilot took the plane down without knowing where the exact landing was.

The Siberian Transport Department says that the pilot’s lack of attention. Reports say all passengers are safe.
