Poland Urges Bulgaria and Romania to Join Schengen Area Soon, Says Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau

This was stated today by the first Polish diplomat, Zbigniew Rau, before the parliament in Warsaw

Poland wants Bulgaria and Romania to join the Schengen area as soon as possible. This was stated today by Poland’s first diplomat, Zbigniew Rau, before the parliament in Warsaw, while presenting the government’s foreign policy priorities for this year.

As one of the main goals of Polish diplomacy, Rau pointed out the democratization of international relations in opposition to imperialism, BNR reports.

Poland’s foreign minister said his country would push for an end to the 1997 NATO-Russia founding act.

Today, Poles honor the memory of over 22,000 Polish prisoners of war killed in 1940 by the Soviet Union. The victims of the Katyn massacre were a large part of the color of the Polish nation – officers and intellectuals.
